The US’s privatised healthcare disaster

Starting with New York, the US is clearly in a current and incipient Coronavirus disaster. With Trump vague on much, if any, support, the US individual lack of (state created) money doesn’t bear thinking about – as this well put together and interesting half hour video episode of Ross Ashcroft’s ‘Renegade Inc’ all too evidently suggests.

Ross interviews two American economists: Richard Wolff and Michael Hudson. Both are worth listening to. But Michael Hudson in the second half of the programme is, for me, especially good, particularly if your time is limited. This is the link.

Thanks Peter, well worth watching although frightening comments on the disaster of the US’s model of dog eat dog capitalism that Johnson, Raab, Gove, Sunak et al want to copy for the UK. Especially interesting the failure of the corporate just in time supply chains for healthcare that is causing New York and all other states such a nightmare.

I agree. Unless you are really wealthy and can presumably force yourself to the front of the queue, it’s a ‘third world’ style disaster.
